Pragmatic Play released Gates of Olympus 1000 on 14 December 2023, introducing it with the line that Zeus strikes mighty multipliers. It follows the company’s other Greek-mythology releases, including Wisdom of Athena and Zeus vs Hades – Gods of War, and is a direct sequel to the 2021 original.
What changed
- Orb ceiling: the random multipliers dropped by Zeus now range from 2× to 1,000×, in both the base game and the free spins. The original’s orbs stop at 500×.
- Maximum win: the cap is 15,000× the stake, three times the original’s 5,000×.
What stayed the same
- A 6×5 grid with tumbling wins from eight or more matching symbols anywhere on screen.
- Four or more scatters award 15 free spins, and three or more scatters in the bonus add five more.
- Multipliers accumulate through the free spins.
- The headline RTP is 96.50%.
- A Bonus Buy at 100× the stake, in markets where buying is allowed.
Why it matters
Pragmatic Play’s chief operating officer called the original one of the company’s most popular and successful slots ever, and said the sequel massively boosts its win potential. For players, the headline RTP stayed the same, which means the higher cap does not make the game pay more over time. It spreads results further apart: more of the total return sits in rare, large rounds, and the quiet stretches between them can be longer. That is the central trade-off of the 1000 compared with the original.
Use that when you pick a version. A budget that suits the original may feel stretched in the 1000 because the big rounds come less often. For a side-by-side comparison, see how the 1000 differs from the original, the Gates of Olympus 1000 page and its strategy guide.
